The Yards Phase 2
The next phase of The Yards development is officially underway. Phase 2 will deliver 3.4 million SF of new development across 10 buildings that will provide office, mixed-income residential offerings, restaurants, retail, and public amenities. This includes Yards Place, a main street that runs from the Navy Yard Metro to the new Diamond Teague park on the Anacostia riverfront. New, public green spaces throughout the neighborhood and 43,000 square feet of new and reclaimed park space will be added to the waterfront.

A 300,000-plus square-foot headquarters, designed by Gensler Washington, D.C., and will anchor a new collection of up to five new office buildings at The Yards. Chemonics International signed a long-term lease for the 11-story Class-A office building at 1275 New Jersey Avenue SE which will include new ground-level retail, several levels of outdoor patios and green areas, adaptable meeting areas that can be used by the community, plus two levels of below-grade parking. At its new headquarters, Chemonics employs more than 1,200 employees specializing in fields ranging from agriculture, economic development, environment, education, finance, health care, IT, and supply chain logistics.
